Breed improvement is closely linked to the development of statistical models that, through data obtained in real production conditions, has allowed us to implement very effective methods for calculating genetic values, taking advantage of information from production control and morphological evaluation of the animals.
As a result of this highly precise genetic assessment, farmers can choose the best animals and improve generation after generation the production and quality of their animals’ milk.
Once the information has been standardized and suitably refined, a semi-annual genetic evaluation of all the animals present in the pedigree book will be carried out, using an Animal Model with Repeated Observations for the established improvement criteria.
